Uses: mainly used in cyanide-free plating, replacer of sodium cyanide as the complexing agent of plating. Also used as a pretreatment agent of plating and pyrophosphate plating solution. component for the preparation of cloth detergents, component of metal surface cleaners and dishwashing liquids of bottle and additive of detergents. Used in ceramic industry as clay dispersant, dispersant and buffer of pigment and dye. Also used in bleaching and dyeing industry to remove ferric ions in water and improve the quality of bleaching and dyeing.

 

Properties & Description:

Potassium pyrophosphate, also known as TKPP, is one kind of white powder or block solid. Relative density 2.534. Melting point 1109 °C. Soluble in water, solubility 187g/100g water (25 °C). Alkaline solution, pH of 1% aqueous solution = 10.2. Insoluble in ethanol. The properties are similar to other polyphosphates.
